FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK FROM MOTION PICTURE BACHELOR PARTY AVAILABLE AUGUST 12th ON SUPERFECTA RECORDINGS

Includes Previously Unreleased Material From Oingo Boingo, R.E.M. The Alarm & Others

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 1, 2003) - Hollywood-based Superfecta Recordings will release the original motion picture soundtrack to the '80s classic Bachelor Party starring Tom Hanks. Never before released on CD, the soundtrack is an eclectic slice of the new-wave era that includes rarities from R.E.M., Oingo Boingo, The Alarm and others. To mark the soundtrack's CD debut Superfecta Recordings enlisted the movie's producer, Bob Israel and music supervisor, Tim Sexton to reflect on their experiences and write the album liner notes.

LA punk/new wave icons Oingo Boingo (Hollywood film composer Danny Elfman's previous musical venture) contributed Something Isn't Right and the title cut Bachelor Party to the 1984-released soundtrack; neither song has ever appeared on a commercial release since. R.E.M., at the time an unknown alternative act, offer Wind Out, which appears on the group's Dead Letter Office compilation of B-sides.

In another exclusive, garage-rock revivalists The Fleshtones contribute a re-recording of their snarling 1978 debut single American Beat. Though the single had been compiled for a Best-Of CD (entitled Living Legends Series 1989) it has since been deleted. Welsh quartet The Alarm, at the time little known outside of Britain, are featured with an outtake from their 1984 album Declaration, titled What Kind Of Hell. And the irrepressible British piano wizard, TV presenter and former member of Squeeze Jools Holland contributes a track as well.

Additional releases scheduled on Superfecta Recordings in 2003 include The Colourfield - Virgins & Philistines (+ 5 bonus tracks) and a singles collection from New Model Army. Lookng forward to 2004 Superfecta has releases scheduled from Heaven 17, Philip Oakey & Giogrio Moroder, Secession, Howard Devoto and many others.

Superfecta Recordings is an independent label based in Los Angeles and distributed by Ryko Distribution/MRI. Founded by former World Domination and Wherehouse Music executive Jason Fiber, the label focuses on reissuing out of print music from 1980's alternative artists. When possible, Superfecta enhances its reissue packages with new liner notes and adds rare and unreleased material from its artists.
